Classroom Rules
Rules:
1. Always say yes ma'am or no ma'am, yes sir or no sir.
2. Speak softly to one another.
3. This is a tattle free classroom.
4. Always treat others with kindness.
5. Raise your hand before you speak.
If the child refuses to obey these rules, they will have a couple of options. First they will have to change their color and sit out 5-10 minutes at recess. If they break the same rule again or another rule, they will sit out the whole time at recess and receive a note in their binder. If they weak a rule for the third time, they will receive the following punishments and a phone call home.

Fear of Failure
As a student I view failure as a good thing. While you're young, it's okay to fail. Failure is something everyone has to go through in order to succeed because it teaches you the right thing so that next time you will succeed. As a teacher i view failure the same way. For example, as you start you're teaching career, you're going to make multiple mistakes while teaching. Sometimes, you will have to totally change your style of teaching because not all kids learn the same way. One year may be completely different from the next, but you will never know until you realize that you aren't succeeding.
In my opinion, grades are a very good reflection about your knowledge. Whenever you get our test scores back, it shows you what you missed, based on if you know it or not. If you know what you got wrong then he next time you are asked that question, you will get it right. If that's the case then its a good thing that you failed the first time because now you know the correct answer.
Every time you fail at something, rather it be in a sport, test, or anything else, you need to fail so that you will work harder so that it doesn't happen to you again.
Everyone takes criticism differently, but i take it seriously and i really pay attention to what they say. For example, whenever i'm at practice, i carefully listen to what my coach says to make myself better. Sometimes people take criticism the wrong way and they get the idea that they are trying to be rude and point out everything they are doing wrong. That's typically not the case.
Therefore, it is a good thing to fail because if you didn't, then you would never get better.

Is Music the Universal Language?
Music to me is very much part of my everyday life. It has definitely moved me and impacted my life in so many ways. Before each game I listen to the same songs over and over to help me get focused for the game and keep all the distractions away from me.
These articles were both very meaningful. It shows that kids in even small, poor countries care so much about music and fine arts that they create their own instruments so that they can play music. Sometimes music can help you remember things. For example i learned all my states in alphabetical order through song and i can still remember it all 6 years later. I feel like schools should have more fine arts programs to help more kids express themselves in different ways.

7 Myths About Rigor
When a teacher says that something wasn't rigorous enough it means that you need to do more. For many people the best indicator of rigor is the amount of homework required of students. Rigor is not another thing to add to your plate. Instead, rigor is increasing the level of expectation of what you are already doing. For example, the teacher can add this into curriculum in reading. The student will be expected to answer the question only; but if you want the student to be more rigorous then after they answer the question then you can make them state why they chose that answer and to elaborate on it.

Creativity Counts
Creativity is the use of the imagination or original ideas, in the production of an artistic work.
Creativity matters in education because without it we would have half the things that we have in this world today. It sheds new light in this world in career success and the growing belief that creativity is not just a personality trait, but a learned skill. More and more people agree that there is more to preparing for success in school than learning subjects.
We ca fix this by letting our students express themselves more in the classroom and assign more individual projects to let the students work independently and do what they want to do without other students interfering with their opinions.

My Year Ahead
Things I want to improve on:
1. I would like to make better grades this semester. In order to do this I would need to focus more on studying instead of hanging out with friends. I need to do my homework the day it is assigned and not procrastinate. By doing this I would have more opportunities to get a scholarship and have a wider range of colleges to look at.
2. I would also like to be more organized this semester. In order to do this i would need to go get a planner to keep all my papers and assignments organized instead of just being thrown around in my backpack. By doing this it would make it easier to find things instead of having to dump everything out in order to find one thing.
3. Lastly, i would like to manage my time better. In order to do that I'm going to need to stay focused on what i need to do and try to block everything else out. By doing this i can get what i need to be done finished and have more time to do other things.
